  1. About the Ground Zero, mosque, it is not really that near the World Trade Center. It is on Barclay Street. For lazy New Yorkers, it is a good 7 minute walk.

At first I thought why poke a stick into the eyes of New Yorkers who suffered with 9-11 by building there? But now I totally agree with Bloomberg and I also think Obama was a wuss about backing off.

We believe in freedom of religion and the separation of Church and state. We are fighting Al Queda, not the Islamic faith. And there is a purely practical dimension on being a religious person (allowed) who observes religious rituals. If you are a practicing Catholic around the Financial District you have about 3 churches right around the area to duck out and go to Mass. If you are an orthodox Jew and want to do your daily prayers, there are number of places where you can do so. If you are a practicing Muslum, it would be a good thing to have a place to duck out of work to do your prayer. There is no problem with this. We should put out money where our mouth is. This is the United States.

  2. I can’t listen to the Dr. Laura rant right now. We have a temp in here and I don’t want to offend her. I din’t hear it on any of the news shows but I heard what she said.

  3. quote:
Mrs. D is so impressed with the intelligence and especially the work ethic of people that post on Brownstoner all day

your comment btw in the day laborer thread was completely uncalled for as you have no idea what i do all day at work. just because i post here and there during the day doesnt mean i dont have a good work ethic. im not even sure what the above quote is even supposed to mean, it sounds awfully underhand and snide.

  4. I think women with grays hate it more than those without grays. I think gray hair is no different than any other color as long as the hair is healthy and well cut. I do understand why women color it.
