Amy S. is really super nice in person. I ran into her once on the street and she actually said something really funny to me and we ended up having a smoke together.
ENY, you have seen it all in travel, that is for sure. I have done a fair amount of traveling too and I have to say that this was cruelty. The person told me that it was their practice to accept plastic, (which I knew) except that their card swiping machine was out of order. So I had to come up with cash to accomodate their broken machinery.
There is a human factor as well. I had paid a good fare, I was traveling 5 hours, I was hungry, I had no where to get any other food and I had plastic, checks, etc. and she flatly refused to “work with me” and/or give me anything to eat. It was flat out cruel. It was the passenger who had the humanity to help me out. I thought the flight attendant was disgraceful. What, you calling me a princess or something?
I’m sure it’s no longer the practice but back in the early 90s when i was looking to hire an analyst to work in our Hong Kong office with me, ALL the resumes came in with photos attached.
I once went to see David Sedaris speak and he berated a woman in the audience so much that when he was signing books, security wouldn’t let her near him.
It’s a good thing airlines in this country are protected. Otherwise they would be doomed. But for some arcane rule about national protection we’re stuck with what we got. Funny how southwest doesn’t charge any extra fees and they’re still making money hand over fist.
flight attendants (tho ive never actually encounted one before) sound about as vile as nurses according to you peoples’ stories about them!
*rob*
Anybody ever flown Turkish Airlines? Do they count as Asian – therefore polite? Sure hope so.
“My baby’s pediatrician friend requested me on Facebook.”
Your baby has a friend who is a pediatrician?
Rob,

“i actually saw her on the street one time and i tried to say hi and she totally snubbed me. i think she’s a total snob in real life.”
She’s was probably just overwhelmed by the “Rob-ness” of you.
