I’m wondering if this will spill over into the PS babes-in-toyland co-op.

i heard that there’s lots of twins that live in park slope who are co-op members and they share their duties!! that’s not very fair if you ask me. shouldn’t they have to put in twice as much work? twins sharing memberships to things has always irked me. and it’s only going to get worse in the next few decades when all the in vitro baybays become adults! scary times ahead us!

Yes, dittoburg, unquestionably it is this particular comparison that is offensive. Obvioaualy this is a particualy offensive insult to black people, as this “comparison” has historically been used in this country to denigrate and degrade black people. I think the cartoonist was well aware of this and also knew that as a Murdoch media company employee, such views would be tolerated, if not encouraged. He also recognized, I believe, that the cartoon would create a stir. So I guess he got what he was after – for now, anyway.

Yes, they’re the ones charging you an extra 5% if you actually want to withdraw your groceries out of the store and take them back home with you. (Sorry, couldn’t resist!)

benson…there was a huge discussion about this maybe 6 months ago. Apparently the checkout linesa re awful for just that reason…inexperienced people manning the checkouts.

Despite what people may or may not think of grocery store checkout people and baggers, after the do it consistently for a week or so, they get better at it. These Asshats at the Coop are just that.
