Biff, I was very suprised by the rumblings during my first few visits. Now I get nervous when the trains don’t rumble because it means they aren’t running and I have to walk up/down b’way for the train.
We definitely have the same tastes since I’ve seen half of what you posted and added the remaining to my list.
ishtar, we have the same taste. If I want to see a film, I always check the Angelika first. Only problem there is one often feels and hears the subway going all during the movie, although I suppose that’s part of the charm.
Dona, I used to live near an amazing video store on the UES that had a ton of foreign, indie and documentary films. And the staff actually knew about most of them! Alas, it went the way of so many other video stores and turned into something like a vacuum and computer repair store. So sad.
Oops, I meant to type Audrey Tautou.
ishtar, LOL re: the subway!
Dona, I never saw that movie. I’ll try to check it out.
Snappy, great news!
” “DH, I’m sorry, but I LOVE Julia Roberts!!”
GOTD” ”
Really? OK. But why? I never knew/heard she was a gay icon? Can’t help it. Notting Hill and Pretty Woman I loved.
someone in another thread called me the idiot savante of brownstoner. is that good or bad?

Our dear Arkady is doing so well, the docs may spring her from the hospital tomorrow!

Oh shoot, how could I forget Amelie?
Audrey Taotou was so perfect in that role.
Wonderful film.
