The Govt. and the NAACP were “snookered,” no question.
Nevertheless, conservative pundits like Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly represent some of the most dangerous individuals in our country, with a national forum and the phony veneer of a “news organization” to broadcast hateful lies and misinformation.
This Fox News/conservative brand of “journalism” is little more than inflammatory race- and class-baiting. But I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, as that has been the general conservative strategy for nearly 30 years. Unfortunately it represents an appeal to the lower common denominator of society.
DIBS, almost think that’s ground for the Ag Dude to resign cause that’s a big F Up played out so so wrongly in public – ie someone has to fall on the sword
Re Sen. Brown, repeating the “40% overvalued” language over and over again is a time-honored demagogic trick. If you repeat misinformation often enough, people will believe it’s true. All he’s really doing is demonizing China to his constituents.
i dont think stuyvesant town was a waste of taxpayer money back when it was first built as it was affordable housing for the TRULY middle and working class. the real wastes of tax payers money were the projects built in the 60s and 70s.
I agree, we have been too prosperous for too long,
the baby boomers, gen X and gen Y aren’t in touch with the reality of true adversity.
Ironically, it is, many times what brings out the best of
us.
…case in point, ridiculous celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, although she’s the least of our problems, just keeping the convo. topical to *rob*’s earlier post. 😉
ENY, more ludicrous that the Dept of Agriculture actually fired her without actually investigating. If high level government officials are making decisions based on video clips found on the Internet, there’s something really wrong.
Bernanke yesterday put the market in a tailspin by announcing that the economic outlook was unusually unclear. WTF.
Does that mean that the economic outlook is usually clear to him? He has missed just about every major development since he became Fed Chairman.
Rob, full writeup later after your crack source experience – ie want to see if it’ll be RANT or RAVE reviews
