  1. dibs and ishtar,

It occurred to me as I was driving over a large bridge, linking two boroughs this morning, what the failure has been over the past 20-30 years.

Observing the vast expanse of architecture, engineering, commerce and human productivity that is Manhattan Island, it is quite apparent that we are in the process of tearing down what has been built up over the past 200 years.

Perhaps it’s human nature or perhaps the inherent cyclical pattern of societies, but we are definitely “defining down”
as a culture and society. towards mediocrity. Unions are only part of the picture since they, in essence represent a socio-economic equalizing force which is truly necessary to prevent another bad side of human nature from coming out, that of greed and power.

What we are left with is this question,
Is the most common of human characteristics laziness or fear?

  2. Stuyvesant was the Belgian guy responsible for creating Stuvesant Town and later driving it into bankruptcy. There are statues of him everywhere that will have to be taken down now. Complete waste of taxpayer money.

  3. quote:
rob, do you know who Stuyvesant was???

i feel like at one point i really did, but as of now it appears to have left my brain. so no, i dont know who he is anymore. not all information is important to keep stored in your brain forever.

    *rob*
