Cobble, the process was a bit backwards as I had to submit an application and indicate availability for an interview prior to speaking to the friend of my colleague. So I’ve definitely given an indication I want to move forward. I think I’ll grin and bear it. Who knows, maybe it’ll sound better to me once I meet a few other people and get more info.
“Biff, Is it that it’s just uncomfortable or have you given this person indications that you want to move forward? But now have second thoughts? Too uncomfortable to be direct?”
This a job, not a new pair of chinos that your wife bought for you – you don’t have to fake it. It’s not right for you – move on. Your friend will understand.

studies have shown that people who quit smoking for financial reasons always wind up squandering that saved money on something equally as stupid. im serious..

“you’re essentially taking away someone elses prospective job opportunity who might have an interest in it.”
That part’s not true. I would only take the job if I really wanted it. I wouldn’t be taking away someone else’s opportunity by simply interviewing for a position.

Rob, you don’t keep the A/C on when you are gone, do you?
we keep the one on in the living room 24/7 for the dogs. but that ac is a beast and it has to heat up two floors. most nights i sleep with my bedroom AC on, but from now on im just going to leave my bedroom door open to the living room instead.. or maybe just get a giant box fan or something.
i remember a while back conED had this program where you can get one bill per year waived if it was too much money for you to pay, but only one bill. does anyone know if this program still exists? i dont even think it was income contingent or anything..

I’m really looking forward to the walking tour this Sunday in Bed-Stuy, but the heat? Ugh!
