A colleague referred me to a friend of hers who works at a primo financial institution in a group that is hiring. I met the friend who seems very cool and happy with her job. Further, my background happens to be well-suited for a position in that group. However, after having spoken to the friend further, I’m more and more convinced the position is not one I would be happy with.
Question: do I still go through the formal interview process just to meet people and hone my interviewing skills or nip it in the bud and not pursue further if I’m pretty sure the job isn’t for me? I would feel bad doing that, given this friend has gone out of her way to help get me in to talk to people and give me information on the company and her department. Thoughts?
I’m the same way – i’d much rather have a less stressful, slightly longer commute on a local train than being crammed into an express train with someones armpit in my face just to save 2 minutes.

Perfect.
The OT often looks like a train wreck.

Just as I thought.
no, but seriously… just look at police blotters when they mentioned train incidents, it’s almost always on an express line.

1 great reason to take express trains:
trains are usually colder because the gd doors don’t open all that much.
“most subway acts of violence actually take place on express trains”
