  1. M4L;

    I agree. I think Torre is a great manager. All I’m saying is that he showed no class towards the end of his days with the Yankees. Also, as you already stated, the book completed his turn to no-class status.

  2. Benson, I finally saw Perry yesterday. He said to send his regards and that he remembered the name but couldn’t really remember you but remembered that it was a very very long time ago that he had you as a student.

    Also the other guy in our building was never a cooper union professor. He ajuncted one semester and you might have had him that one semester.

  3. Slopefarm, would you prefer the Dolans or Wilpons running your yanks? best all around ownership in tri-state area are the Giants owners. but if I’m a Yankee Fan, I cant complain too much about George’s ownership of the team.

  4. Donatella;

    What owner doesn’t interfere to one degree or the other? It comes with the territory. If you can’t deal with it, then don’t take the job (I could spend all day crying about the interference I receive from the home office).

    As for Torre whining a little because he gave so much to the Yankees: poppycock!! It was George’s checkbook that provided him with a first-rate roster of players, giving Torre the chance to shine as a manager. How does a proposed contract insult someone? If you don’t like the proposed deal, walk away or negotiate like a man. Don’t be a petulant child by running to the press and blasting the person with whom you are supposedly negotiating in good faith. No class.
