Like me you were probably became tired of the
whole LeBron thing. However that he went to
Florida brings up the issue of taxes as that
state does not have an income tax. James is a
great case study in taxes and economic
growth. He is basically a company and not a
small one, the numbers quoted in the links
below as to what the high tax states lost in
potential revenue are staggering -1 billion for
NY for instance.
In a global market place were you are located
is less important and NY’s media market
becomes less important. Sports writers will
concentrate on his salary, some of that will be
taxed under state jock taxes, but the real
money is in endorsements and that money will
be state tax free. He has said that he wants to
be a billionaire, his accountant told him that will
be difficult in a high tax states and like
successful and talented people that you never
read about he moved his company to where he
would get the best return.
This will become more important as the Bush
tax cuts expire. Interestingly the billionaire
owner of the Nets also lives in a low tax, high
growth state: Russia, which has a 15% flat tax,
has moved to eliminate its capital gains tax
and has been growing at +5%. There is a
reason that Florida resident Tiger Woods is
paying his wife a 750 million dollar divorce
settlement, the former California resident is
worth at least twice that.

LMFAO, i could never gather a group that large of people who could afford that no matter how hard i tried! how elitist and snobby. like one or two people of the six can’t just be tag alongs and drink mineral water? so lame.
“At Ma Peche at the Chambers Hotel. It’s $85 per person and you must have a minimum of 6 people. Dessert not included.”
That’s the new David Chang restaurant in Midtown. If you want to see an epic tasting menu check out one of the menus for Momofuku Ko’s weekend lunch. $180 bucks and 20 something courses (kinda like a gussied up dim sum)
LOL, wasder. I used to know every one by heart, but now all I’m coming up with are Koduck cameras and Mrs. Clean (will wash the floor with Mr. Clean when she finds him).
Eating all that meat would be totally disgusting. Do they serve vegetables? Fruit? Brown Rice? Tofu Pepto Bismal?
