Slopey – Good analysis. My one concern about keeping McC is whether he’s sane. What on earth was he thinking to’ve talked to a reporter that way – esp. after the debacle in London not long ago?
When I was a seaman in the Navy I got a public scolding from a Lieutenant when I made some derogatory comments about President Clinton in front of fellow sailors.
No easy answers, but I’m thinking the right resolution is:
1. McC tenders resignation
2. but Obama keeps McC on
3. A bunch of heads below McC roll immediately
4. Very forceful public statement from Mc C with apology and affirming chain of command and what won’t be tolerated
Both Afghanistan and C of C are delicate matters. Abandoning Afghanistan was problematic but it may not be controllable. USSR failed trying for a decade. But unless plan is to walk away from Afghanistan now, C of C issues are easier to fix while keeping McC than Afghan will be to deal with without McC, the architect of the current strategy. Tough call — what would you do?
What’s the difference between cockiness and douchebaggery?

Lots of words are never pluralized. Like “information”

Rob, yes that was me reporting the fire yesterday. The fire was halfway down our block.
I think that McC should publically spank himself.
