My Soho sanity is achieved by avoiding Broadway at all costs. Kinda sucks since your building is actually on it.

rob, the minute I exit the train in Fulton park at the end of my street it’s like I’m on some sort of retreat away from the city!!! There’s even a temp difference in the summer when Manhattan is sweltering.
um, i actually <3 my commute. it’s the only time of the day i truly feel relaxed. and it’s only 22 minutes on the R train. of course they got rid of the M train in my area starting on the 27th grrrr so who knows if it’s going to be relaxing anymore. if i could commute for 2 hours each way on train (as long as i had a seat the whole way and it was air conditioned) id be happy as a pig in shi+

After I first started looking to buy a house in brooklyn, particularly bed Stuy, I did the math on the move….
In manhattan I had a mortgage that ran about $2,500 a month and I paid $560 in CCs and $420 in RE taxes. So outlay was $41,760 a year.
Now I have a house where the mortgage is $2,600 a month (INCLUDING THE RE TAXES which are $2,000 per year), and roughly $240 a month in extra utilities. On top of that I get $1,200 a month for the first floor apt.
Outlay is $34,080 – $14,400 = $19,680 a year.
I couldn’t believe the difference.
Yes, RE taxes are higher the further you get to BH but, as we all know, all of those people pay an “obnoxious surcharge.”
You know, Dave, that whole thing I wrote I was trying to write carefully. Didn’t want to get into raunch hour so early, but the whole story has possibilities. 🙂
Greece ties Nigeria 1-1. Anybody care????
Awww, Thanks Dona!!!! That’s not what my exs think but that’s a whole nother story.

“Countries that have qualified but never scored a WC goal: Canada, China, Dutch East Indies, Greece, Trinidad & Tobago, and Zaire.
Select company, Biff!”
I love being lumped in any category with China!
But BoHill, since I’m also a citizen here, I get to cheer for Team Canada in hockey and Team USA for everything else.

Kens, any girl marrying you is marrying well.
