  1. I know Denton but problem with my building is that our maintenance is comparatively still pretty low compared to a LOT of Brookyn co-ops and we run a pretty tight ship BUT because our building is made up of immigrants, there are a few that bitch that we steal and waste money and that our maintenance is VERY high. Those are the people that bought their 2 bedrooms years ago when they were 35K and paid 400 dollar maintenance for years and now bitch that their maintenance is like 700. Of course the new shareholders that bought in the past couple of years and actually shopped around (mostly Americans, not Russians) are happy as can be the way the building is run, the way the board addresses things, and the cleanliness and financial stability of our coop.

  2. I agree with those saying not to take any medication. Biff’s right. Americans are overmedicated. there aren’t going to be enough spare livers to go around when they all start failing from medications.

Psychotropic drugs have the worst side effects.

When you start a medication regimen, no matter how limited it is, you must make sure you get regular liver chemistry sreens.

Luckily I seem to have an incredibly resistant liver. I chalk it up to my diverse ethnic heritage across Europe.

  3. “When I moved to Brooklyn in the mid 80’s, I couldn’t believe how good I felt when I got home. I lived in Brooklyn Heights and I went one stop on the subway from Wall St to Clark St. and it was another universe, quiet, pretty, a neighborhood.”

Exactly what prompted me to move from the UES to BH, dona.

When I used to get home from work, it felt like the chaos never ended. Now when I go home, it’s like night and day. That’s why I never get offended when people refer to BH as quiet and boring. It’s exactly that peace that I cherish after a hectic day in Manhattan (spent mainly posting on the OT).

  4. Rob’s discontent is a sign he’s ready to enter a new chapter in life, by taking on new responsibilities or new dimensions to his life than he’s previously had.

It’s a positive, not a negative, to feel the way he’s feeling.
