“jackal, I dare not mention the forum in which your question is most appropriately posed. Just don’t say anything about hats if you post there.”
Yeah, yeah. That’s my wife’s territory.
And to answer the question from someone else: yes, pre-k is basically a babysitting service. If you’re offering to babysit 5 days a week for less than what it costs for private pre-k, please let me know.

i was going to, until i realized that i went to private pre-school. it was only 400 bux for like the whole year tho or something. i think the reason i went was to be properly socialized or something. i was a bit of a strange one back then.
MM,
No obvious answer.
Either reduce consumption massively or live with the risk that spills and accidents may happen, and improve response & remediation.
Alternative technologies can’t meet demand in the near to medium term, and some come with their own limitations in terms of reliability.
“Sorry to jump in a little late here…. But WHY OH WHY does my 12 year old car get *as good* or BETTER fuel efficiency than brand new cars on the market (similar size)”
Very simple, T6.
All the advances in engine efficiencies, and there have been many, have gone into greater horsepower instead of fuel economy.
For example, take the Porsche 911, which has always been one of the fastest everyday cars money can buy, and fairly efficient to boot (rear engine weight transfer helps)
0-60 time for a 1970 911, 7.1 secs.
0-60 time for a 1975 (post emission regs), 7.7 secs
0-60 time for a 2010, 4.2 secs.
I don’t have fuel economy specs at hand but I bet they’re not near as different as the speeds are.

My mother was widowed so I went to pre-K but back then it was called nursery school.
