Sorry to jump in a little late here…. But WHY OH WHY does my 12 year old car get *as good* or BETTER fuel efficiency than brand new cars on the market (similar size).

You’re right, a lot of our “green” talk is pie in the sky, fanciful thinking… but if the 2.4 liter engine in my 12 year old car can get 20 mpg city / 25+ mpg highway… then they ALL SHOULD. Have we gone BACKWARDS in technology since 1998? Cars are less efficient?

It’s just baffling to me. Cafe standards should be shoved down the throats of carmakers — foreign and domestic. If you want to sell a sedan ever again in the United States, it should get 40+ mpg. And not phased in over 20 years… this is possible in 3.

Not really…all I said on the topic was:
“Best to use K-Y then a petroleum based lubricant cause they tend to clog pores.”

That’s more advice than contributing visuals.
