Criminal charges just filed against BP. I don’t know the full ramifications of this.

So what’s the viable, doable alternative here, energy experts? I agree a lot of the talk is just that, and there is a lot of “green” nonsense, as being green is the new cause de jour. However, we do have a serious crisis, and just naysaying every alternative is not getting us anywhere, nor is a defeatist what the hell, we’re all going to die attitude, either.

I agree the bans on wind turbines offshore are absurd. Boycotting BP doesn’t hurt them in the pocket now, but is a PR nightmare that will hurt them shorty, if people decide they are “that oil spill company” and drive right by their stations in sufficient numbers for a long enough period of time.
