  1. “But if a woman feels fear, that is the important thing”

You also need to treat people as people. In that thread, the woman never said she felt “creeped out” or threatened, just uncomfortable. And we don’t know if he asked once or more.

Judging from the over-reactions of most of the responses I was beginning to feel sorry for that poor guy.

Having a key would only be an issue is she felt he was a threat.

  2. “much like people who work together shouldnt”

but rob, the thing is that according to all the studies I’ve seen, more couples meet in the workplace than any other. I did, for example. I agree there has to be a sensitivity to differing ranks and status, but I think it’s stupid to ban workplace fraternization. (not related to handyman thread).

“”I find it odd that BH tells me he gets dirty looks from women who catch him looking at them. ”

I think it’s an older guy thing… they want guys to look at them but not ‘creepy’ old guys like us.

G10, age has nothing to do with being hot, I’ve always found many women of all ages to be sexy, and not just now, but when I was young also.

    YES!!!

Denton, the thing about the Handyman thread is that the guy has her key. He also seems to have bad judgement regarding leaving the building open so much of the time. Most likely the guy is goofy, lacks finesse, or something. But if a woman feels fear, that is the important thing. You always need to pay attention to your feelings, because something about that situation scared the poster and that I take seriously. How many woman ignored their gut feelings about things and got into serious trouble? I liked Rob’s response — to turn off the man/woman vibe thing by being very neutral/polite and Vinca’s advice too to have a heart to heart with the landlord — probably starting on the neutral ground of the door being left open which could lead into a discussion about personal security without accusing the guy of anything. Forget the whole class thing, that whole point, that is completely beside the point. The girl is scared.

  4. the woman is a tenant (or owner) in the building where the handiman is employed. honestly, i dont think he should be asking her for a date, much like people who work together shouldnt. it can create akwardness at work, and in her case her domicile. we have no clue if she’s over reacting or not, but chances are she’s not. have you met supers? ive talked to so many of them. believe me, they are definitely a strange lot.

  5. LOL, denton! I think you’ve got it!

Now you just have to convince people that you aren’t MARRIED! Which may be a little tough to do since Mrs. D has been to so many of our gatherings! But these are details! LOL!
