Kensingtonian — I got my new bike at Brooklyn Bike and Board on Vanderbilt. I like those guys. A few of them are a little flaky, but they are very nice. I bought a new bike from them last summer and they stood behind their product. I think they’ve diversified a little, but they mostly do single-speed bikes (and of course specializing in “fixies”) I wanted a simple, single-speed bike (not fixed gear, cuz I like brakes, and I’m only a little crazy). You may want gears for the hills. But worth visiting. They’re open late.

I have to agree with ENY- Playing chicken with a crazy person in a vehicle is insanely dangerous and not only can the two of you wind up injured or dead, but the people around you. Cars are vehicles until they become weapons.
