    It’s very complicated to sell baked goods – lots of codes & licenses.

    As with any small or self-run business you also need a good plan, significant financing (as MM points out) and good luck, plus the will to sacrifice and work your ass off (which means not posting on Brownstoner all day, unless that’s key to your business plan).

    It’s easy to say, “You should start a business!” but as the saying goes, talk is cheap.

  3. lechacal- great story! your uncle sounds like the male version of my aunt, who was a world traveler and quite a character. I once described her as a combination of Auntie Mame and Field Marshall Rommel.

  4. Yes etson- because they weren’t joking, and a lot of it was truly offensive. Biff’s comment was a joke, riffing off of another person’s comment. Some of us can still tell the difference, even if you and benson can’t.
