I think it’s time someone start playing hardball with the unions. Everyone else is experiencing higher healthcare costs and no salary increases. This is just ridiculous.
You can train a doorman in fewer hours than it takes to train a barista.
I would be devastated if I lost my dog. I am still a bit shaken from the sight of my dog lying motionless for a few minutes last week after he fell from the bed. I thought he had broken his spine, and would have to be destroyed.
It would also involve maintenance staff, which is much more of a hardship. Especially bad for people who might be trying to move – my building in NYC would suspend all moves because the service elevator is out of use.
Other deliveries & tradesmen may choose not to cross the picket line.
Also quite annoying to have to show an ID card to get into one’s own building.
It doesn’t affect me much as I am in Canada most of the time but I do think it could cause non-trivial problems for people if it goes ahead.
DH – Eureka moment – perfect place to hide from the apocalypse is Loki. Lack of food means low chance of an attack!!

etson, let them strike. all I’m praying for is BK bldg “grow a set” and be prepared to fired some or all of the union staff if they strike
