lechacal, I say take it. I was ready to take a position with an exciting start-up a few months back for the same reasons, but they ultimately decided against opening in New York.
Lech, that’s very exciting. My advice: if you can get by with savings and/or whatever Mrs. Chacal is pulling in, then GO FOR IT. If it doesn’t work, you’re super smart and will easily be able to find another job doing what you’re doing.
My cousins kids call me Aunt ‘Cobble’ and my siblings kids just call me “Cobble’ or a nickname we made up specially for them to use without the “Aunt” attached.
I don’t dabble with banks -particularly investmt banks. too “black-box” for me. closes I ever dabbled with banks was back in the day with regional bank mutual fds.
lastly, I’m predominantly sitting on cash, gold, and real estate.
