  1. so, what is the problem with insanity? Helps one deal with reality.

I have one nephew(about 15 years old) who lives in non-sidewalk suburb who envys his cousin who lives in neighborhood with sidewalks.

I think it was NYTimes magazine couple months ago where I read essay from woman who upset her neighbors cause she allowed her kids to walk down the block aways to visit friends. THe mother of kids the girl visited drove the daughter back later – saying ‘you just never know’.

  2. DIBS, the American dream requires hard work to result in a meaningfully better outcome than the alternative. I blame the erosion of the American dream much more on easy credit than on government entitlement programs.

Lechacal, you are witness to the American Dream.

100000% agreee. Sad but true, that’s what we immigrants pretty much thrive for when hearing about America back in the old country.

  4. “Suburbia is insanity … Here you have millions of people who should really just be living in substandard company housing somewhere and they all have big screen TVs and mcmansions.”

You’re just noticing this now? [Raised eyebrow]
