Umm… Lechacal, I would like to remind you of what you said just a couple days ago. In fact, this was your crazy reaction to my comment asking you what you thought of the Ozarks and how I thought (after several visits) the Ozarks had a terrible climate along with hurricanes and the people in Missouri were not very friendly….

They’re not so young that they don’t recognize the ethnicity they’re imitating & I think the playlet underwrites the idea of bigotry. I’m not p.c. by a long shot but I do think that even more subtle forms of “education” get kids into destructive, parochial ways of thinking & lead eventually to intolerance.

U.K. Woman Accepts Dubai Jail Term for Public Kiss, Mail Says
April 5 (Bloomberg) — A British woman sentenced to a month in jail in Dubai for kissing a male friend in public has decided to go to prison rather than lodging a final appeal, the Daily Mail reported.
The 26-year-old estate agent from London, who lost her preliminary appeal yesterday, has been unable to leave the Gulf emirate since she came on holiday in November, the Mail said.
“I just want to serve my 30 days and get out of here. I can’t get on with my life at the moment. I’m stuck in this country with no money and I can’t work,†the Daily Mail quoted the woman as saying outside the courtroom yesterday. “If I appeal and turn up to court in two months time and the verdict is still the same then I would have wasted more of my life.â€
The couple were convicted Jan. 19 of committing a public sexual act after an Emirati woman said she witnessed them kissing on the lips outside a seafront restaurant in November.
The two Britons, who admit to appearing in public after drinking alcohol, say they only kissed on the cheek. Under the Islamic laws in the United Arab Emirates, intimate public contact is punishable by jail and deportation.
