Ha!
Oh, good grief. Now Snappy’s sticking her tongue out. It’s contagious!
I am really going to work hard now, but I want to go on and on about Kansas City. There is so much history there too – jazz, just the story of Truman sucks in a big part of the KC story. It was the point at which Lewis and Clark got started and all further westward travel was outfitted and left for parts northwest and parts west. There is the black baseball museum which is extremely cool too. Of course, I spent half of my time trying to convince people that I was not a rude, nasty, elitist, condescending New Yorker. It is really sad, actually, how much of that mistrust there is. Also, Missouri was (not now) a huge wine producer… Missouri is very different than Kansas by the way — Kansas has a history as a dry state – Missouri is a mess but much more colorful. NOW back to work for me — have a good day PLUSAs.
Cargar, that’s not sarcasm you detect. It’s the smell of impending glitter doom :-p
“And, actually, Philly is a lot like Brooklyn (of say, fifteen years ago) without the rest of the boroughs”
Wait, what are these ‘other boroughs’ you’re talking about?
*rob* I’m totally chary of your continual use of the word chary. 🙂
You should think about employing the richness of the English language! Try words that capture the full nuance of what you’re trying to express… wary, suspicious, shy of, cautious, mistrustful, distrustful, circumspect, guarded, skeptical, dubious, leery, apprehensive, doubting, hesitant, anxious, uneasy, nervous…
“Yes, I can see it whenever we all get together.”
Am I the only one who detects sarcasm?
I used to love chicken fried chicken. Anyone here remember the Cottonwood Cafe on Bleecker (near Bank) in the West Village? Prolly been gone for more than a decade. Used to be my favorite brunch place. It was next door to The Paris Commune, which, I believe is also gone.
Very heavy call buying in C today.
