Rob, JB pulled a fast one on you. if that mommy stays home and not work, it just mean that gig she would’ve taken would’ve gone to someone else. Hence no impact to taxes collected by gov.
actually, moms in the work force are THE MOST ANNOYING TYPES IN THE WORLD and the WORST people on the train! i wish they just stayed home and watched their own damn kids. im sorry if that sounds harsh, sexist, whatver. it’s true. they suck

Nannies are working individuals and aren’t sitting at home on their asses collecting welfare.
but they ARE collecting welfare if they arent paying their taxes. they are a DRAIN.TO.SOCIETY! ever see that movie Menace to Society!?!?! i want to make a version about nannies!!!
and you know what really bothers me Legion, is that you probably can’t name what cost containment measures, including fraud and abuse control, are not in the bill that you think should be in the bill. there is also something on every other category that you mentioned. maybe you might say, it doesn’t go far enough, but I bet you don’t have a well-formed opinion of what tort reform should be in there that’s not, either.

“It is unconstitutional, and will be struck down. Where in the Constituation does it say that the government can force you to buy insurance to protect your own economic well-being?”
Well, the constitution is not that specific, it neither says directly that the governmetn can or can’t. Time wil tell whether this is permissible regulation of commerce.
Right – a license and driving is a privilege and a choice. But we don’t have the choice not to get sick, and the medical profession as a whole doesn’t tell people to just sit in their rooms and die if there is no coverage. Somewhere, there is a hospital or doctor to take that person in. And that comes with costs. Unpaid bills, bankruptcies, bad incentives for insurers to cherry pick, adversely select and fraudulently disclaim. I know our perspectives are quite different on this – I just don’t see this as the constitutional affront to liberty that you do. But we’ll eventually find out from our nine modest umpires. If it passes, the challenge is inevitable.

Correct on the bodegas. The employees are all payed off the books. I bet 50% or more of the sales tax doesn’t get paid.
