  1. “Get a meat thermometer. That’s all you need, plus a nice cast iron frying pan.”
And some decent knives – paring, chef’s at the very least.

  2. I have a microwave and use it for popcorn. I rarely use it to heat up food. It creeps me out that food can get hot in 30 seconds. I put leftovers in a pot/pan, sprinkle a little water and heat on the stove or in oven.

  3. “What is a food processor used for?”

    Food processing.
    🙂

Now I have a microwave cuz i have the room, but didn’t for the last decade. Nice for heating up leftovers, and thawing ice cream and softening butter. CH is right, a food processor is much more valuable.

  4. Cook’s magazine is pretty nice, too. They have pictures and everything! LOL! I’ve gotten a few great recipes that I use over and over from them. I get a subscription every couple of years and save them. Very useful.

  5. You don’t need a microwave. I have never owned one. They’re nice for heating things up, but not necessary. The Cuisinart on the other hand is totally worthwhile for a number of things.
