  1. The key to getting any customer service rep to do what you want is to say to them, “Please don’t knock yourself out or anything over this – I’m just wondering if it’s possible.”

  2. Bless your heart legion. I was on the west side of the site, but spent time visiting vollies at St. Pauls. We made a lot of friendships and still stay in touch. I’ll email you privately- you probably know some of them. I was on site when 587 went down. Some of the guys came over after working at 587. We had people putting their heads down on the tables and sleeping before they could get up and work on the Pile. One firefighter I met lived in Belle Harbor- it was the last straw for him. He went off the deep end. I still see him once in awhile- he’s never been the same.

  3. “Yeah but doing a good job and taking pride in it is itself about passion.”

Yeah, but I can’t say that I was that passionate about that PowerPoint Presentation or that brochure or that web whatever!! And I think that’s what people think when they hear the over used word ‘passionate’. They think they have to be ‘passionate’ about whatever widget they make or thing they do. It’s not always like that.

I’m much more passionate about my cookies!
