I totally agree, and I can tell you why. At your age, or a few years younger, Rob, I totally changed my work life from a sort of slacker shop girl to something resembling more of an actual career path. Why? I wanted things.
I wanted to save money. I wanted to stop living paycheck to paycheck. I wanted to travel. I wanted a nice apt. and nice clothes.
I’m no rocket scientist, but posting on Brownstoner aside, I’m a very hard worker. In some of my jobs I’ve worked as many as 60-80 hours a week. I wasn’t always ‘passionate’ about my work so much as I wanted to do a good job and be proud of what I’d done.
You can make a change Rob. Start envisioning what it is you want. It’s the only way to get there.
