  1. ATLANTIC YARDS FLASH:

Mikhail Prokhorov, the so=called salvation for this projetc lost a deposit on a $527 million villa in southern france after he failed to complete the purchase.

    Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.

    Is FCE/A a short????

  2. Was I, D? I thought you renovated before me (our real reno largely was late 2005 thought 2006, although there was quite the preamble. When I first started lurking, you seemed like a wise sage of the contractor wars, but maybe you were in the middle of things then, or worked in stages.

I only get a PTSD flashback when a poster seems to be taking a financial risk they are not prepared for. Someone like Albemarle reno seems to have the means to handle th surprises.

  3. Slopie, I think you were the one who talked me in off the ledge. You told me your story once. I still have flashbacks, though I am working through the last remnants of it. (I still get the shakes when I read some things on the Forum under the category of “trying to do something extremely ambitious with a total wreck.”)

  4. M4L,

yeah, I saw that one too, looked like Ohno was just keeping a cushion between himself and the other player, but he was a good sport about it, said it was the nature of the sport, DQ’s are factored into the mix.
I cringe every time they fall though, they are basically skating on giant razor blades.
That young American player nearly bled out earlier in the year when the blade cut him to within 1 inch of his femoral artery. And to think that some of these olympians train for 4 years just for that 3 minute run or to lose by 2 hundredths of a second!

  5. Legion, not that I watch short track enough to be expert but to me, it was questionable of that south korean team should’ve been DQ’d. Felt same way on Ohno’s DQ too – ie if he was to be DQ’d, so should’ve the Canadian dude who won gold.

  6. M4L,
right, I watched many of those short track races.
the most exciting was the one where the Chinese team was
head to head with South Korea in the relay.
The South Korean team won by nose but was disqualified for
    an illegal push.
    China was golden.
