  1. “”So congrats to both countries, both of which had an outstanding Olympic showing.”
    Says the dual citizen

LMAO. I’ll be applying for my German citizenship now to ensure I have all my bases covered. Actually, my grandfather was from Germany; I might already have it!

  2. “Definitely, as rob calls it, “white people food.” 🙂

I guess I took this to heart as I’m now eating kishka for lunch. If you don’t know what it is, Google it. It’s ETHNIC white people food. May be served with turkey on Thanksgiving by Eastern Europeans.

  3. cmu, La Colombe is the best. But I believe I have at home the one you are referring to. I bought it at Chop Chop on Smith St and then ordered 10 of them inline. I’ll check the name.

  4. Talking about coffee…what do y’all recommend to buy locally (beans)? I’ve been getting Peet’s delivered from SF for 9 years. The best coffee in the world, but they just raised they prices to $16.75/lb delivered, and it’s time to change, sadly.

I do not like: Starbucks; Ozzies; free trade organic stuff at the local bodega, can’t remember brand, very pretty packaging.

  5. Donatella,

I am sure I said something kind to you, or perhaps suggested some lines of attack in your various battles, but I doubt I said anything in the “it was all worth it” vein. I usually cringe when people say that to me and I wouldn’t say that to anyone whe went through a reno hell. House is beautiful, yes, I’ll say that, but I generally won’t tell someone it was worth it.

P.S. It’s really the money hemorrhage, and all the shading and lying, that makes reno such a pain, not the trauma of taking apart a house. If we did ours with an ample financial cushion, I would have emerged far less traumatized.

Anyway, no one wants to hear reno talk on this blog, so next topic!
