  1. CGar…if you’re interested I’d like to go to some of those with you. I’ve not spent enough time in BH and then we can get lunch/cocktails. I’m here this weekend as I had planned to go up to Albany to visit parents but it certainly looks like that is a no go.

  2. I know someone who once had movers (this is a loooong time ago) hold the last item, a big desk, on the truck hostage for a bigger payment, not just the tip. This was a commercial office move for a small non-profit. One smallish truck. No more than a 15 block move. Job came in way over estimate, total bait and switch. Fortunately, the desk was one of those crappy metal office desks from waaay back. My friend just told them to keep the desk, but he wasn’t paying above the estimate. They were p.o.’d.

  3. I used Moishes a long time ago and they were good, but they were busted for shakedowns not too long ago. They would hold people’s stuff hostage until they paid up extra unannounced fees. I used ABC Moving and Storage with my messy, complicated move from Kansas City – I moved stuff from storage in KC to Brooklyn in Sunset Park, then to my place in FT. Greene when I was ready to really move in. Too bad about the fridge, Biff.

Rob, you don’t have to tip the cable guy. When somebody asks me for a tip, they get one, a little one.

  4. DIBS and Denton,

sometimes it’s just better to give those dudes walking around with shovels the $20 bucks for the snow removal.

…you can throw your back out going sleigh riding instead.

  5. That’s a nice apartment, Biff. I wish there was a picture of the deck, but I’ll probably go to that OH too. (My only concern is “pets on approval”. That’s been a bad sign in other buildings that really, really don’t want dogs.) I like Liz Celano of BHS, and she has nice listings.

  6. For all you loser homeowners working, I just got home and it’s NASTY. 2-3″ of pure slush, with snow now coming down. Get the shovels ready and watch your back, this shit is heavy.

I enjoy shoveling snow but we’ve had just about enough and that heavy shit ain’t no fun. Today I will probably wish I was a huge real estate tax-paying condo owner or a bitter renter!!!!!!!

  7. I like 128 WIllow. NIce layout. Really nice shape. And LOVELY block.

It seems these places were 250 not all that long ago, then 450, then 650, then 800. Something in me thinks they should be back at the 650 level. But if they’re asking 750, maybe 650 takes it. I have no idea where things are selling at the moment.
