Denton, the thing with Jersey City is the tax situation. When I was looking, I checked out JC Historic District brownstones, and they have similiar housing stock to brownstone Brooklyn, some really beautiful buildings, but the taxes are around 10,000 per year, though prices are a little lower. Also Hudson County is a trip — so corrupt politically. You are buying into that. That was my problem with JC.
DIBS- wasn’t pushing you for the refi, I was just referring to your first post about the market opening up poorly. This reports have a positive affect on mortgage rates, this morning helped some of my clients that were on the fence and some that are looking to close got free extensions because of it.
I see continued weakness, moving some of my portfolio into cash.
dibs- well, this bitter renter gets to help the Great EVLL shovel snow. Renter abuse!! Renter abuse!!! (Thank the lord MM is out for a few hours and won’t read this til later, ha ha ha.)
Denton- Paulus Hook is super super nice. It’s like the Jersey City Brooklyn Heights. Very beautiful and very quiet. The taxes are higher in Paulus Hook than the rest of the downtown historical neighborhoods but it is very ritzy.
That price is amazing though for that neighborhood. Grand street is a little busy so that prob why the lower price.
Cobble, we’ll have an impromptu when Snappy returns, but you should probably be among the first to know that CobbleSnaps is planning a BIG spend-your-tax-refund-on-beer gathering after April 15th! Didn’t Snappy leave a note on your desk??
