As the single mom of an adopted Chinese Jewish teenager who grew up in Clinton Hill, lives in Bed-Stuy, and celebrated her bat mitzvah in a Chinatown banquet hall and has strawberry blonde bangs that cover her eyes and horizontal raccoon stripes on lanks of her hair and raccoon eye makeup, she doesn’t fit the stereotype. Sometimes I worry (well of course I worry!) but she’s a great kid, definitely a citizen of the world.
