I think the only brand name that is left from freihofer’s is Sunbeam Batter Whipped Bread.
OMG, when I was a kid, I use to love those ices that you buy in the yellow cardboard cup. Cherry and watermelon were my favorite flavors. You’d scrape the ice with a wooden stick. Your tongue would get all red. You get to the bottom and you hit the jackpot cauwe the ice was darker and tastier.
Entennman’s owns freihofer now. I liked the fruit cookies the best. No homo.

In Marine Park we had the knife sharpener and a blue ice cream truck by the name of “Johnny’s” with an old fashioned bell. By comparison, the Mr. Softee jingle sounded so annoying and automated when I first started hearing it in my teens.
But Arkady, Dave, where can you find Freihofer’s these days??
I have never been to a Friendly’s. I keep begging you-know-who’s partner to take me just so I can check it out.
