“a 3 or 4 zone central air unit is mega bucks”
Exactly, and that’s why I say 800k+ for the reno.
I’m sorry, but Mr. Slims are ugly as sin.
I realize that crown heights isn’t ‘prime’ for some folks. But this is a big house 7,000 sq. st. of living space.
I know if I renovated this house, I wouldn’t muck it up with cheap ass finishes. Location (which I happen to think is the best in Crown Heights0 or not, It really could be a showstopper.
The parlour floor can be airconditioned and heated from the floor above through the use of small high velocity ducts,,,about 2″ in diameter. The upstairs living quarters are less of an issue as far as soffit placement.
M4L, I saw the house a long time ago and don’t remember what needed upgrading. I just assumed everything.
Big ticket numbers are the electrical, plumbing – especially if you’re gonna reconfigure the bathrooms. Which I would to add an ensuite master bath for the master bedroom.
TextperV, Mr Slims are cheaper alternative than to rip through the woodwood, walls, etc. to put in central air. for a place this huge, a 3 or 4 zone central air unit is mega bucks. Mr slims can make very room their own lovely zone.
let’s not lose sight here, crown heights still not a mega loved hood so one has to balance how much $$$ to put in before one realizes he/she should’ve bought that fancy house in fancy hood cause total cost around the same
CGar, obviously, we’re not looking, but whenever I see an Awaye sign, I think of King Arthur in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. “Run Awaye! Run Awaye! Run Awaye!” I can’t imagine anyone who was around these parts for that thread could ever seriously consider doing business with them.

He’s in the mood for a big Mexican.
“Dave’s always up for Mexican.”
