CGar, one has to do what one can afford. If some skilled architect, contractor, carpeter would like to offer their free or deeply discounted svcs to ensure the pad is done “RIGHT”, hey the door is open
I love this. From a listing for 848 Bergen Street:
“Originally built in 2005, this special multi residence . . . retains much of its original detailed modernity.”
What “original detailed modernity” from 2005 do you suppose the broker is talking about, lol??? Stainless steel appliances and glass tiles in the bathrooms???
There’s nothing worse (for me) than seeing ugly metal a/c diffusers in a gorgeous house.
There are options to concealing it…and yes, it costs $.
In a contemporary renovation, I prefer slots running along the ceiling perimeter. The ceiling looks like it’s floating.
Right, Slopey?! “A” for creative writing though.
Love it, Cgar. “Retains”? As if anyone would gut reno something built four years ago, stripping out the “original” details.
ET, bang up renov on mega budget is super easy – even I can do decent job. doing bang up job on Mr Slim-like budget – that’s worth bragging about
“Who wants to go topless with me and carry a sign?”
No interested in carrying a sign but happy to see you go topless.
“I may be a bitch”
Take the “y” out of “may”, then rearrange the “m” and the “a”, and I’ll agree with you twice in one day!! 😉

“I actually agree with ET, for once.”
You better! When it comes to design, just don’t argue with me. I may be a bitch, but I know what I’m talking about.
