  1. Wait, Legion, I never mentioned the homeless– that’s a whole different ball of wax. And I already talked about your census figures not giving a true picture. Census figures are based on food and income, that its. I am not claiming that money is being wisely apent, necessarily. Like I said, other agencies, like the DHHS, look at identifying the poor in a different way, as they should. But make no mistake, there are objectively poor people.

  2. “living in a two bedroom with a car and three meals a day is angry with this nation because we are not taking better care of them.
and yes, that person might be considered poor, but only in America.”

Of course a person in this situation is not poor. But there are a lot of people – IN THE UNITED STATES – who are MUCH worse off and are LEGITIMATELY poor. Should our government provide support for them? That’s another question. But such people do exist in the U.S., and in significant numbers.

  3. “that is exactly what happened last June with a manual we’d been working on for a mere 18 months. Your taxpayer dollars hard at work!”

DIBS, what is the longest amount of time you’ve worked on a Manuel?

Manuel is my masseur. He works on me for 90 minutes and then some.

  4. Legion – agreed that person with house, 3 meals, and car not poor. I have to admit that when i imagine this person also angry at teh government, i think of tea-party-ers, wanting to governemnt to ‘keep out.’

DIBs- agreed, back on the tax roll! Get them back to work already!

Ahem, speaking of back to work…
