I was in NO 2 years ago– just like everyone said, the French Quarter was restored cmopletely except for the odd house here and there, but outside the French Quarter, much less so. But i think not every party of the city was destroyed.
Rock on CGar. I don’t know how some of you do it, high-pressure offices all day. I definitely don’t have the personality for that. I like my laid-back profession.
This may sound weird, but Tiger’s wife is somehow too blonde.
I use to go every year. Last time i went was in 2007. And I went to the 9th ward. 2 years after the hurricane, it still looked like nothing had been done. It was a very depressing sight.
Ditto that in Virgina in the areas surrounding where my folks live. There are very few jobs to speak of besides the seasonal farm work available.
For the most part you see mostly retired people from the Northeast who have been dubbed by the locals as “come here’s” supporting the local businesses and economy.
“I’ve spend some time in these states (not just the touristy parts) and the level of poverty there is distressing. People living without electricity and running water.”
Absolutely ET – Was down in LA (before Katrina) and it was really upsetting that people in the US live that way.

“even though she works remotely on Fridays.” — what I do has been refered to as remotely working
Cobble, I like how your list included “Chad”.
Should we talk about him?

Cobble, are you fillibustering?
Legion, I can’t decide if Elin’s pretty. Sometimes yes, sometimes, eh.
How about 7 words you’ll never hear Snappy say:
“Not tonight Serena, I’ve got a headache.”
