THL, it’s great that your husband has the patience for eBay. My brother does too. At the time, I had so much stuff to sell, donate, etc. – much of it from my parents’ and grandparents’ estates that ended up in my basement (for years) until we decided what to do with it (which never happened) – that I had neither the time nor patience to sell it off piece by piece so, for much of it, I took what I could get from dealers, consignment, and through an auctioneer. The upside is it was very liberating to be rid of all that stuff.
if kids outgrow them so quickly shouldn’t there be dozens of used ones for sale on ebay or craigslist for 20% of orig price. Does anyone think babies care if sit in used stroller, sleep in 2nd hand crib, etc? Is it not more of ego/insecurity of the parents?
Thanks rf! Yeah, they have some reasonably priced “get out and go” lightweight models that I’m not opposed to. It’s the big heavy duty infant ones that are ridunkulous. Considering that I’ll probably get a lightweight one once she’s 6 months or so it just doesn’t make sense.
The one that everyone was just crazy for and insisted I get was the Stokke Xplory. Which is $999 at Babies R Us but you still need to get the car seat adapter etc. Not happening.
I wonder who they are too, travel the world, collect, have wonderful apts and/or 2nd homes, all meticoulous, beatifully displayed…so who does the dusting?
the one thing i cant stand (well one of hundreds of things i cant stand) about those real estate nytimes pieces is how throughout the article they have to refer to the people as mr. blah blah blah and mrs. blah blah blah, it’s SOOOO obnoxious.

Shipping all that type of stuff from overseas is not very expensive at all.
I do my own dusting.
I always wonder how they can afford to ship those goodies home. I saw lots of neat stuff but would’ve gone broke trying to get it back here.

*rob*
“Who are these people???????”
Fakes, probably. No one has the time to travel the world collecting AND do their own renovations.
