slopefarm,
we don’t have to be headed to a revolution, but certainly if you look over the past two centuries there are countless cases of what I’m talking about;
PolPot, MaoZedong, Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Castro, Tito, Franco, Milosevic or Chavez to name a few.
most used the same game plan to wrest control of the population.
not saying that’s happening here, but I’ll certainly remind people of the characteristics.
You know well the difference between mandated auto insurance and mandated health insurance – being a bright lawyer. The former is a requirement to drive on public roads. It is not a personal requirement. If I chose to drive strictly on private property, auto insurance is not mandated. If I chose not to drive at all, auto insurance is not mandated.
Again, my question: how do you characterize a situation where a person may go to jail for not getting insurance for their own personal well-being?? I called it oppression, but I would be curious to see how you characterize it.
As for Medicare: I am not in opposition to a social safety net, and that is what this program is. It is humane to provide medical care for those in their elder years, as they no longer have the ability to generate an income, and the “race is over”, sort of speaking. This social safety net is paid out of my taxes. I can elect politicians who determine what level of taxes we pay. Again, I have some freedom here. I don’t see it the same as being hauled off to jail because I choose not to insure my own person.
Legion, I’m gonna stick to watching HGTV and then turning on 1010 Wins to find out who won once it’s over! That way, if they drop anymore games it won’t be my fault 🙂

Dolphins and humans and now bonobos apparently are the only animals who have sex for pleasure, I believe.
