  1. “Food and Drug Administration investigators say the Chinese companies may have spiked products with the chemical melamine so that they would appear, in tests, to have more value as protein products.” ABC news

“and the truth shall set you free…”

  2. “you know… it’s all of you old school gentrifiers who back in the day made all of those DISAPPEAR! so now those places arent available for people who want to live in nyc and not pay thousands of dollars in rent. evil, EVIL people you were back in the 70s and 80s, and in some cases 90s.”

rob, I don’t think it was the people that lived in the hotels that made them disappear. Rather, the collusion of the liberals (claiming conditions were intolerable) and the real estate interests (who wanted them turned into condos) destroyed them.

Thanks dh but I was agreeing with your original point; not sure if I could replicate my story today. I’d like to think so, but it would definitely be harder.

  3. Denton, they actually do.

Joe, without knowing who I work for, it’s kinda pointless for you to make statement on who is gullible. I gave up a pretty cushy job in corporate law because I really wanted to work for globally responsible company. We are NOT perfect as a company but I do enjoy here much more than for a law firm that made all those money and bonuses from Asset-Backed and Mortgage-Backed securities. Having said that, if I get laid off tomorrow and get an offer to go back to corporate law (which is a pretty good possibility for both) and I need to support myself, you better believe I’ll do it and won’t even think twice.
