Rob,
I did read recently couple of congressman proposing tax deduction for pet care/expenses …Up to $3500 a year deduction. Would be very popular with cat/dog/pony people here. (and before you start, Benson, it was a republican).
IBM just announced that they will give their employees 100% coverage of healthcare. There will be no deductibles or copay. It encourages them to seek healthcare rather than avoid it and because of that they remain healthier, thus driving down overall costs over the long term.
This is how capitalistic corporate America works when it works best. The best economic solution is the best solution for all parties.
Stevie, instead of wringing your hands over your perceived “wealth redistribution” why don’t you just work harder????
To me it seems the more I make, the more taxes I pay so quit looking for a handout and vote for the guy who’s going to run this city better and make it more prosperous over the long term.
You seem to be part of the problem, not the solution. Can you tell me with a straight face that Thompson will be a better mayor than Bloomberg???? I THINK NOT unless you’re on some sort of hallucinogen

Dave,
If I wanted a handout, I would be working for one of the banks that kept TARP money.

Stevieb – you wouldn’t like that because then you’d actually have to pay income tax.
That’s pretty funny, Arkady. Not at all surprising, but funny.
