I wish there was a girls equivalent of barber shop. A good quick cut for a reasonable price.
Seriously, all I require is that you can cut a straight line. Why does that have to cost me $60+ plus 3 tips for the washer, ‘stylist’ and blow dry gal? I’m being bamboozled.
Judy Davis has gotta play Arkady. And Phylicia Rashad could play a mighty Montrose. I have to work on Biff and Dibs. I’m thinkin’ perhaps a bit of Vince Vaugn crossed with Kevin Kline for Biff… Dibs is more difficult.
bxgrl,
from what I am hearing it seems to be a combination of increasing incidence and increasing diagnoses.
regarding asthma, there is definitely an increased incidence in certain populations which they are relating to environmental factors like proximity to major highways in the city and home exposure to allergens and fomites.
Autism is harder to quantify because it falls along a spectrum of normal human behavior and development and it’s cause is not directly known. There is definitely a factor of increased diagnosis and awareness, something like 1 in 150 children today. 30 years ago, these children would have simply been put in the “special help” class and nothing further. Today there is much more awareness and intervention involved which has been proven successful, everything from aggressive socialization therapy to dietary control as some believe it stems from an intestinal condition.
Legion, I never even heard of the Louis Armstrong Museum. Thanks for the tip.
Ok, so I just took time out of my very busy sched to get a hair cut. I go to a true blue old school barber shop(as anyone who has seen me in person would surmise) as opposed to a fancy schmancy salon. A few observations:
1) I was pathetic enough to be reading Brownstoner during the cut and LOL’ed at DIBS’ post at 10:26. Barber thought I was nuts.
2) Barber’s fingers smelled of cigarette smoke. Couldn’t he at least wash his hands before he cuts my hair? I guess that’s what one expects at a barber shop.
3) The bastard told me I have a lot of grey hair (even more than shows) and it’s somehow not showing as it’s “hidden”. I have no freaking clue what that meant. I guess that’s also what one expects at a barber shop.

“I wasn’t trying to insult you. Just thinking she already starred as Ms. Congeniality. I figured she owned the role.”
I know you weren’t. Just thinking about what milquetoast she is. I always thought John Cusack would play me.
snappy- absolutely!Although i would have thought you’d want Serena playing you in her first acting role 🙂
