I was lucky my parents never needed us kids to help them pay for anything so it became a point of pride to be able to insist and pay for dinner at a nice restaurant. But I was planning to have Mom move in with me when she said she wanted to come back to NYC after my father died. Sadly she died before we could do that. We were raised that way- if family needed something, you helped out. My parents looked after a long line of needy relatives over the years.When we wanted to take care of them they were happy to tell us they didn’t need it.
Just heard from agent that an offer has been made but she can’t tell me what it is as the procedure is that it has to go through the office. The glass is half-full though!
