My sister-in-law is a retired highschool math teacher – she does substitute work & has set parameters w/ the local office about the kinds of classes she wants – works pretty well for her.
Snappy and cobble, you two have outdone yourselves. I can’t wait for the next gathering just to see how you market that one! You should start your own advertising business. I’ve been humbled (hardly the first time).
Bxgrl – That story sounds all too typical. There should also be a way for outstanding teachers to work reduced hours later in their careers or after they’re technically retired. Quite a few would love coming back to teach one or two classes for part of the year, rather than the full courseload. Of course the union would prevent any idea that threatens the status quo.
Rob – that happens to some teachers. Not me – I take my frustration out on the bureaucracy!
Rob, concert is at 7:30 I think. Let’s discuss tomorrow with DH.
Chicken, it is an easy job but the co-op requires insurance just so if something happens to the workers while working in the building, they have insurance to cover them. Just a safety precaution to avoid any possibilities.

Anyone watch Family Guy? When Rob posted…
“you know what really irks my buttons?”
Made me think of when Peter did that news segment “What Really Grinds My Gears”.

Snaps & Cobble – Magnificent!
the problem with teaching is that the second someone starts teaching they all of a sudden come to the universal truth that KIDS SUCK!
