  1. ENY- Even if that is true.

The cop didn’t call in to base saying we just saw a black man trying to pry open a door and we’re going to investigate. They got called to respond to the alleged break in at the house.

That said I can’t see how in this particular instance he could be accused of profiling.

  2. THL- the cops are not always wrong. I’m the first one to defend them and have done so many times on b’stoner. But they certainly could have handled this better and the neighbor is an idiot in any case.

  3. I think etson might just be harking back to an old British campaign to stop local crime called “neighborhood watch” where all neighbors were expected to call in unusual acitivty they’d seen to the cops. If you took part it meant you were a good neighbor.

I can’t believe Obama’s approval rating is below 60% now.

seriously? why not? he kinda sucks. i mean he’s handsome and everything (not my cup of tea but whatevah), but he’s wasting tons and tons of money and i truly believe he’s going to flush our country down the toilet. well, maybe it was headed that way anyway, but he’s definitely going to be the one actually pulling the chain.

  5. DH- , etson- I love you both but that’s ridiculous. A good neighbor knows who you are- especially considering their respective Harvard positions. A good neighbor would know you walk with a can and if the car driver is helping you up the steps with luggage, you’re coming home. “poor lady?” “Good Neighbor” How about “what an idiot?” or “Get a little common sense?”
