I love shrieking at HGTV- so much fun. But heather- it is sad you had to go into investment banking (my choice is always go for coffee), but as they say- one door closes and another opens. 🙂
DIBS. “Investment Banking” entry level is easier than remembering how to brew all those drinks. Entry level is just a super high paying data entry monkey – ie inputting #’s into fancy built models
That’s insane!!! I got lucky with the apt. I’m in now…they listed it as a two br because the br is really large and could be divided. Everyone who went to see it before me wasn’t interested because they needed a true 2 br. I was the only one who didn’t care. I saw it, liked it and hopped in the car with the LL’s sister and went to her office and signed the lease and got my keys. No credit check, no questions, no nothing. I think they were just so happy that someone wasn’t b!tching them out about it not being a true 2br. And, I paid no fee since the broker was the LL’s sister and was doing for him for free. HOT DAMN!
I am so lucky with my landlords (even the Great EVLL!). But I really think its over the top to demand all that really private info and I have to ask- shouldn’t I know what my landlord’s assets are? after all, if they go into foreclosure, I’m screwed just as well. I’m just sick and tired at how little personal privacy we seem to have any rights to any more. If a landlord wants my entire personal life laid out for them, I expect the same in return- but that never happens, I bet.
That is over the top, cobble. I don’t use a broker. I do want to see credit reports, but usually let people print out their freebies. I also don’t see the point in a cashier’s check for first month and security, unless we were signing three days before move in. As long as the check clears before I have to turn over the key, that’s all I need. I also don’t ask for any of that until I am ready to offer the place to someone. But as I told rob in teh other thread, I do want to know that a tenant who loses a job has the ability to keep paying. Usually, though, it has been a couple, both working, so I haven’t sweated it too hard. The fact that the thread concers a studio makes the asset confirmation mroe important since there will be only one tenant, not two.

Starbucks training is pretty damn intense.

Hey, the stock market went crazy when I was in the business.
Sadly I was working for a company that was shorting it.
And then I became an office temp.
“Sadly, I wasn’t selected for intensive coffee training and I was forced to move to New York and go into investment banking.”
No wonder that profession had such problems!!! 🙂
