I hope sixyears hasn’t been at sycamore happy hour all day getting liquored up and grading regents. he might be ready to throw someone a beating by 6pm!
I liked religious too – there were some scenes that were a little much for me.
like when he was in that pathetic looking church down south basically questioning the faith of these guys who were reformed criminals. Maher obviously had a better command of the english language and I just thought he was mean about it.
get him in a room with one of my old friar teachers and he would get a pretty good debate.
Biff – John Tierney in The Times on Tues cites a study that believers cling to life when they’re dying more than non-believers do & their families ditto. He expresses surprise that the faithful aren’t less reluctant to go to the elysian fields & hang out w/ the angels whereas those who foresee a void tend to exit more easily.
I liked Religulous a lot. But then again, I am often snarky and condescending. 🙂
And I do agree with bxgrl in that it is nice if people can take comfort in their religion, especially during hard times. I’m also envious of those who truly believe those who pass away move on to a better place. It sucks to believe it’s all over when the heart stops beating, but I can’t force myself to believe something that I just can’t believe in.
