Maybe these store openings aren’t a real shocker given the demographic, but the “specialty baby boutique” LuLu’s for Baby opened at 44 5th Avenue, and Madison Rose Maternity just signed a lease at 171 5th Avenue. There’s another Madison Rose in Carroll Gardens, and they will be filling the spot of the recently closed Artful Place.

  1. *rob*, BH meant that as a complement.

And, BH, if you EVER stop making excuses for not coming out with us, you’ll find *rob* as endearing as the rest of us (except cobble) do.

(I mean, how many more venues close to your house do you want us to pick? What? Are you waiting for Biff to suggest we have a gathering in your living room???? OK, if you have PBRs and a pool table and a karaoke machine, we’ll have a gathering in your living room.)

  2. “”you should ignore rob and dave.
Just think of them as those needy kids at the playground”

You won’t see rob and dave at playgrounds, they’re childless and won’t be allowed in.”

That’s why they’re needy: they need kids to get into the playground.

  3. oh, okay, thanks 🙂 and be careful with those designer kids clothes from consignment shops. shake them hard outside (but NOT on the train) before you take them home. i do that when i buy / find used clothes. you never know what’s crawling around inside of them.

  4. I’m not a meanie…OK, I can be, but I wasn’t trying to be just now.

The guy you tease in the office is usually the kid you like. (I read more *rob* posts than emails from folks who report to me, so he feels like a co-worker) When you don’t like someone you’re indifferent.

Plus, ya know, it’s like trying to hit the broad side of a barn with a rock, e.g., pretty much can’t miss.

  6. I haven’t met *rob* in person yet, but for some reason he reminds me of this scene:

    Woman: “I sense great vulnerability.”
Man: “I see a parasite, a sexually depraved miscreant.”
Woman: “His struggle is man’s struggle.”
Man: “He is a loathsome, offensive brute…yet I can’t look away.”
Woman: “He transcends time and space.”
    Man: “He sickens me.”
    Woman: “I love it!”
    Man: “I love it, too!”
