It’s been in the making for nearly two years, but at long last Lucali spin-off Giuseppina’s has opened in Greenwood Heights. Park Slope Patch delivers an early report and says the pizza “was everything the perfect pie should be.” Like Lucali, the menu is limited to pizza and calzones, but unlike its predecessor, Giuseppina’s serves wine and beer. Has anyone been? How does it compare to the Henry Street original?

  1. Gem, is there an auto body shop or gas station on 7th between 19th and 20th? I heard that’s where it might be going…?

DH, prices are about similar to Lucali. All these fancy pie places aren’t cheap (as you know).

  2. I love difara’s but I understand folks that don’t. They’ve always just been my inlaws local pizza shop. Love Motorino and Paulie Gee’s. I wouldn’t even bother to with Grimnaldi’s. Keste is good but overrated.

  3. Jessi – ok thanks! I will try it at some point – it’s hard to convince my husband to get pizza from these places – ha

11217 – nooooooo, I didn’t hear that – that would be interesting – am just trying to figure out which bldg Spumoni Gardens would move into…

  4. let’s hope that it doesn’t get that 1+ hour Lucali wait time. I called Friday nite around 8:15 and they said “1 hour” but it ended up being 45 minutes; like Lucali, they’ll take your cell and call you.
